I love mounting skins on unique older drums! It affords the opportunity to inspect the build quality, upkeep/maintenance, signs of repairs, and/or the need for repairs. This set of 1978 LP Palisades Park zebra wood bongos is in great shape. It received a 1mm horse skin on the 7-1/4″ macho and 1.4mm steer skin on the 8-5/8″ hembra.

I recently mounted steer (hembra) and horse (macho) on these solid caoba VIUDA DE CARRERAS Y Ca bongos. VIUDA DE CARRERAS Y Ca was a Music Store in Calle Prado in La Habana in the 50s. It was a high-end store were pianos, string instruments and percussion instruments were sold. We are so thankful for the opportunity to have worked on a true piece of history!
