Description
Fat Cat™ Buffalo is Middle Eastern Nili Ravi. On congas, it produces dry/woody tones, and has low action at thickness above 2.5mm. It is ideal for folkloric styles or any application where a very thick skin is preferred.
Skin thickness is recommended relative to the shell size- the larger the shell, the thicker the skin. This produces a balanced sound across the entire set of drums.

Skins were very nice, however I decided to exchange them for other Manito skins. Very pleased overall with Manito products.

These skins are a Gamechanger. I bought the 3mm variant in Chocolate. Looks awesome and the sound is amazing. The slap is so easy to play now and i even feel some rebound. Which i never had before on other Skins. Makes the Congas so easy to play. Faster patterns are much less tiring now. I highly recommend these Skins and will probably outfit all of my Congas in the Future with the FatCat Buffalos. Getting them on is quite a bit of work and i had to water the bigger one again. So 9 hours watering was not enough in my case. In the end i let them soak for 24 Hours and then it was easier to work with. However they lose a bit of the dark color if you let them soak longer. Not much but i just wanted to state that. Anyway, i am a very satisfied Customer. It’s not cheap though. I live i Germany and with taxes included one Skin costs me about 130 Euros … but it’s definetly worth it.
Oh, and i will probly buy the “Loner Mounting Lug Set” on my next order. I had to work with Clamps and a Lashing Strap to get my Tuning Lugs in.
