Our customer requested a greater collar height to avoid injury, and that we preserve the original heads. It’s always a good idea to have spares if needed.
We just completed upgrading the flesh hoops and skins on this set of Manana bongos for a customer here in Georgia. Manito fabricated new 3/16″ 304 stainless steel flesh hoops. I mounted 1mm steer on the macho and 1.6mm steer on the hembra. This combination produces a contrast between the bright resonant crack of the macho and deep throaty punch of the hembra.
