Description
These Spalted Poplar Wood Bongos with a Tigerwood bridge are made from locally sourced poplar wood from Athens, GA.
They have a red coral and magnesite stone inlay logo on the bridge.
They feature our handmade stainless steel hardware with a half-round crown design.
The heads measure 6 3/4″ and 7 3/4″ and are very comfortable to hold while seated. The drums are very light weight at 9 lbs.
They feature a double Goat skin on the macho and medium thick steer skin on the hembra. That’s right, there are 2 thin goat skins mounted on the macho for a very crisp, cracking sound. This double skin technique is something we’ve experimented with in the past and have recently begun to bring out again. It has a different tone than a single horse skin of the same thickness, a bit more dry but still lots of open tone volume and incredible slaps.
