Description
This Mahogany and Caribbean Pine Tres/Dos was originally a vintage tack-head shell I bought many years ago. I recently refinished it and fitted it with vintage Sonoc sideplates from Cuba.
I built the crown, lugs, and bottom ring from 304 stainless steel here in our workshop.
The hand made stainless steel hardware features a 5-lug Cuban style crown and heavy duty 5/16″ tuning lugs.
It has a 2mm medium brown steer skin head. The paying surface is 10 1/2″ diameter and the drum is 29 1/4″ tall.
This drum is a great drum for comparsa, marching or carrying. It weighs just 15 lbs.
